Phoenix Fury Raids Seattle
Members of PF have killed Hakkar and Ragnaros, have downed Razorgore, and have squashed bug bosses in AQ. After all of these experiences, we have begun to feel that we are ready for greater challenges. For our first effort at these new instances, we decided to tackle Seattle.
We were not able to put together a full raid group for the
assault, so we decided only to make it a reconnaisance/farming
run. Flathan, Niccolo, Nyobe, Grimmond, Myranya, Myranmys,
Myrsa, Alyuana, and Andalint were on hand at the appointed time,
and we entered the instance. Our first challenge was to
negotiate the "Pike Place Market".
Before a party can enter the market, it is required to engage
the "Original Starbucks", and several of us came off the worse
for that battle.
Once past that we were faced with the market itself, containing
a number of minor bosses in colorful gear, trying
to take the group's gold in innovative ways. We had some trouble
with the Jalapeno Jam Lord, and the Fish Monger Murlocs hit Nic
pretty hard, but aside from that, we got through this section
uneventfully. From there we moved to the waterfront, and
an extended engagement with the Clam Ogres. These mobs bring
beer and clams until your speed and attack power are cut to a fraction of
their normal values. This was a challenging encounter, but
Anda hit them with frost nova, and we escaped with our lives.
After that battle we felt that we had had enough of the
instance, so we decamped to the inn, where 300 cooks Nic,
Nyo, and Nyo's mother (who had a special cooking enchant on
her tunic - taking her to 315 cooking) prepared various
dishes that imparted stamina and spirit buffs to all concerned.
All in all, we concluded that it was a successful run. We failed to take down any bosses, and came away only with a few green items, but we also didn't wipe, and managed to scout the instance fairly well. We are ready for a more concerted attack in the future.
PF Hits Level 25!
PF recently became a level 25 guild. At this point, PF members get 10% more experience and 10% more rep from killing stuff, and 10% more honor in BGs. Our items take 20% less durability loss on those (exceptionally rare) occasions when we die. Our hearthstones only need a 15 minute cooldown. We have guild pages, extra mining, skinning, and herb picking, and a group summon and group rez. Congrats PF!
